An Appeal for Patience and Kindness Toward One’s Aging Mother

Posted in Poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 10, 2016 by emmanuelle777

When your mother has grown older,
And you have grown older,
When what was once easy and effortless
Now becomes a burden,

When her dear, faithful eyes
No longer see life as they once did,
When her feet, grown tired,
No longer want to carry her as she walks —

Then give her your arm for support;
Accompany her with gladness and joy.
The hour will come when, weeping
You will accompany her on her final walk.

And if she asks for something, then answer her.
And if she asks again, then speak.
And if she asks yet again, respond to her,
Not stormily, but with gentle calm.

And if she cannot understand you well,
Explain everything to her joyfully.
The hour will come, the bitter hour,
When her mouth will ask for nothing more.

A Light At The End of The Tunnel

There´s a light at The end of The Tunnel,

There´s love That awaits me There,

All cares and Troubles I will leave behind

As I climb The golden stair.

There´s a light at The end of The Tunnel,

There To meet my Yahshua face To face

And I´ll be in The Home That I longed for,

Saved by His heavenly grace.

You cannot bring about prosperity

                        by discouraging Thrift.

You cannot strengthen The weak

                        by weakening The strong.

You cannot help The wage earner

by pulling down The wage payer.

You cannot further The brotherhood of man

                        by encouraging class hatred.

You cannot help The poor

                        by destroying The rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot keep out of Trouble

by spending more Than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage

by Taking away man´s initiative and independence.

You cannot help man permanently

by doing for Them what They could and

                                                                     should do for Themselves.

To Be With Thee

Posted in Poetry with tags , , , , , on July 20, 2015 by emmanuelle777

Over The hills Through The wood

My Thoughts drift To Thee

Through The flower filled meadows

Down oaken covered lanes

Across The glistening seas

My heart seeks only To be with Thee.

Above Tree-Tops of dazzling greens

My spirit soars To be with Thee

Over majestic mountains high

Beyond The world, beyond The din

My True love waits for me.

Erin, O Erin how far from me ye be!

Strollin’ down The Emerald steeps

As far as yer pretty brown eyes

O as far as They can see.

Yer silky mane as dark as night

With lips so blossom fair

Aye lass, ye’ve brought me To my knees!

Erin, O Erin what have ye done To me?!

The stars They Twinkle like your eyes

Your skin so soft and pearly white

To yer heart how might I win The key?

The moon it’s shinin’ oh so bright

My heart by yer side reflect The night

Might I have This dance with Thee?

Erin, O Erin oh won’t you marry me?

To have you by my side eternally

To grow old walking hand in hand

What an honor and joy it would be!

With God at The wheel To guide us

Through calm and stormy seas

With a hand of roses I’m down on one knee.

You hearken not unto my requests

Nor hear my cries!

Instead, hiding behind other faces

And Turning your face from my pleas,

You yourself have banished me!

My Mother gave this to me many years ago.

Its time to share it!
